AJ Magix 2MAGIX 2 POWERCHAIR GIVES AJ A NEW LEASE OF LIFE - Oct 2023

At the age of 33, AJ suddenly found herself disabled and reliant on a wheelchair after collapsing at home.

Following numerous tests, AJ was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder along with ME and Fibromyalgia and the combination of these three conditions meant AJ’s life would never be the same again.

“In the past I’d had mild ME and chronic fatigue but nothing like this” explained AJ.  It soon became clear that AJ would need help getting about as at times she could only stand for 5 mins and walk maybe 20 meters.

At first AJ used a manual wheelchair but she did not have the strength to self-propel and hated having to rely on her husband or friends to push her.

AJ decided a powerchair was the answer and purchased a folding powerchair online.  “This was OK, but I never felt completely safe and secure in it especially if there was a camber in the road or pavement as I was always worried about tipping over” continued AJ.

In December 2022 AJ and Dan moved to South Wales and they knew AJ would need a more powerful powerchair to cope with the numerous hills and uneven ground.

“We decided to attend Naidex to see what was available, I saw various models which were OK but as soon as I saw the New Live Magix 2 I knew I had found the powerchair I had been looking for.  One of the issues I have at home is the lack of dropped kerbs and as I watched Matt demonstrate how it could tackle large steps with ease, I knew it would change my life”.  After chatting to Matt and explaining her situation AJ had a test drive and absolutely loved it.

After the show, AJ arranged for Matt to visit her at home for an assessment.  “I also spoke to another manufacturer as I thought it was best to try more than one powerchair but to be honest, the Magix 2 blew the other one out of the water with its performance especially over kerbs and rough terrain”.

AJ admits she can’t imagine life without her Magix 2.  “The Magix 2 has literally changed my life, it has given me so much independence and I also love the fact I don’t have to worry about finding a dropped kerb anymore.  I feel confident when I am out and about and it has also given my husband peace of mind as he knows if I go out on my own, I am in a powerchair that will ensure I get home safely.  Another great thing about my new powerchair is the riser and tilt in space functions.  Where I live it is extremely hilly and I have always worried about the front of the chair catching the ground going uphill but by rising and tilting the chair slightly this is no longer a concern.  At the end of the day, we live in a beautiful part of Sout Wales and thanks to my Magix 2 powerchair I can enjoy it – you can’t put a price on that”

AJ has always loved going to concerts but hated having to be seated in the disabled area with a limited view.  However, thanks to the Magix 2 she can raise her seat and get a perfect view of the stage.

The Magix 2 also helps AJ in her role as a trade unionist when she attends meetings and conferences as she can talk to people face to face.

AJ Magix 2 New Live

“I honestly can’t thank Matt and the team at Precision Rehab enough.  From the first meeting at Naidex Matt has been great and I could tell he knew what he was talking about and wanted to get to know me and find out what I wanted from the chair as opposed to just selling me a powerchair.

That level of customer care and experience is incredibly comforting, and I would not hesitate in recommending Matt and Precision Rehab to anyone that is looking for a powerchair”

“The NEW LIVE Magix 2 is a relatively new addition to our product portfolio, so it is great to hear such positive feedback from AJ about how her new powerchair is enabling her to live more independently” commented Matthew James, Director and founder of Precision Rehab.

The NEW LIVE Magix 2 powerchair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its ultra-compact size and innovative 6-wheel drive system allow it to go to places that are considered inaccessible for most wheelchairs and powerchairs and can easily climb smoothly over kerbs and steps up to 15cm.

It is available with powered seat functions including: seat lift 40-80cm, back recline 90/160 degree, tilt in space -37/+10 degree, power elevating & compensating leg rest (single or individual) with footplate to floor system.

The Magic 2 comes with a comfortable standard seating system but can easily be fitted with aftermarket seating including V-Track for all postural requirements. The NEW LIVE Magix 2 truly must be seen and tried to fully appreciate how agile and capable it is for both indoor and outdoor use with optimum comfort and ease.
