POWERCHAIR PERFECTION FROM PRECISION REHAB

Precision Rehab has almost 30 years’ experience in the assessment, sales & servicing of specialist powerchairs, and is the official supplier of Paravan powerchairs in the UK & Ireland. On stand G10 Precision Rehab will be launching the Paravan PR25, PR35S and PR35 powerchairs.

The PR25 features a compact chassis designed by Paravan which uses automatic stabilizer wheels to enable the seat system to be powered from a normal seat height to floor position. This function allows children to access the chair from ground level enabling interaction with their peers, it is also suitable for small adults.  Another unique function of this ground breaking powerchair is that the seat can be moved fully forward horizontally away from the base of the chair while still remaining at the same height.  With a base width of just 64cm and choice of three additional functions of Tilt in Space, Recline Backrest and Seat Lift, the PR25 is a truly multi-functional powerchair.

The Paravan PR35S is the smallest standing powerchair currently available in the UK and features a chassis width of just 57cm and a maximum user weight of 80kg.  The front wheel drive PR35S is a genuine paediatric sized powerchair for children and smaller people.  Standard powered features include lying, seat lift, Tilt in space with anterior tilt, recline backrest with incorporated anti-sheer and elevating leg rests.  The PR35S has been crash tested to ensure it can be safely used in vehicles with tie down or docking systems.  Whether at home, in school or out and about with family and friends, the PR35S is the perfect powerchair for any child or smaller person who also requires a standing function.  The small chassis combined with R-Net joystick control with memory settings makes the PR35S incredibly manoeuvrable even in the most confined spaces which most paediatric powerchairs would struggle in. For users not requiring a standing function, the PR35 offers a great powerchair solution while still incorporating all the cutting-edge features of the PR35S.

Precision Rehab will also be exhibiting the Paravan PR50, TrackMaster MK-1, NHD Ultra LS300, Eurovema Flexmobil i6 SitRite, Paravan Piccolino and the Dietz Sango Slimline.

POWERCHAIR PERFECTION FROM PRECISION REHAB

With nearly three decades of experience in the assessment, sales and servicing of specialist powerchairs, the Precision Rehab team works closely with the client, their occupational therapist and anyone else involved in their day to day care from the first assessment through to delivery.

Some clients require a specialist seating system and Precision Rehab can achieve this through its relationships with many of the UK’s leading seating manufacturers.  This combined experience and network of contacts ensures that every client receives the powerchair and seating system which meets their specific requirements.  Alternatively, should a client require their existing moulded seating, this can be incorporated onto their chair using custom interfacing.

Personalising a chair does not stop at the seating system.  From mounting communication systems and bespoke controls which can include chin and head systems there is a wide choice of adaptions which can be installed.  Precision Rehab can also help the client choose their own paint finish.  For example, a client recently took delivery of a Paravan Piccolino which had a custom finish of Bentley rose gold matt while another client requested the colour to be matched to their favourite nail polish.

“Every powerchair we supply is bespoke and I believe the chair should fit the person as opposed to the person fitting the chair” commented Precision Rehab founder Matthew James.

Four-year-old Lily is a fantastic example of how the Precision Rehab team can provide a bespoke solution. As soon as Lily’s parents saw the Piccolino powerchair they knew it was perfect for Lily as it had the seat lift, tilt in space and other features we had been looking for but during the first assessment they had concerns that the standard Piccolino seat size would be an issue as Lily is so small.  Matt immediately put their minds at rest by explaining there are various bespoke options that would work for her.  However, they would not be needed as by the time they placed their order, Paravan had developed the new smaller K110 seat and Lily would be the first child in the world to have one fitted to her chair.

“At Precision Rehab we only use trusted manufacturers and suppliers to ensure we can provide our clients with high quality reliable products and in addition to being the official supplier of the eight model Paravan range of powerchairs for the UK and Ireland, we are also proud to work with Dietz Power UK.  Their Sango range offers powerchairs for all client groups – adults, paediatric and bariatric and whether they prefer front, mid or rear wheel drive” continued Matthew.

As part of its ongoing expansion, Precision Rehab recently announced the addition of the Swedish built Eurovema range of powerchairs to its portfolio.  Designed primarily for use indoors, the range comprises of 3 models, the Miniflex Front Wheel Drive, the Flexmobil i6 Mid-Wheel Drive and the Reflex Rear Wheel Drive which are available with a choice of seat options.

THE DIETZ POWER RANGE OF POWERCHAIRS

DIETZ Power was founded with one very clear goal in mind: to develop powered wheelchairs that are adaptable right down to the last detail, for people with limited mobility of any kind to use in a wide variety of living environments. In 2017, a small team of professionals joined forces, working every day (and, when needed, at night too) with relentless energy, highly focused creativity and, last but not least, the valuable know-how gained from many years of experience, to get the job done.

The result: A range of perfectly coordinated wheelchairs and high-quality individual components that can be precisely configured to fit the particular powered wheelchair required.

The SANGO powered wheelchair range offers a combination of great traction and comfort for outdoor use with a compact chassis size for tighter manoeuvres when being used in indoor environments.

Being available in either mid wheel drive, rear wheel drive or front wheel drive the best chassis option can be selected depending on how and where it will be used. The rubber suspension system offers an almost silent drive and the highest level of comfort because it absorbs vibrations from general surfaces as well as larger bumps from rougher outdoor obstacles.

Fitted as standard with 4-pole high torque motors the SANGO range offers a great drive with high levels of manoeuvrability and smoothness. A range of motor speed options are available for slower indoor use or a faster drive outdoors.

60Ah batteries allow a good range of driving and, on some models in the range, 78Ah batteries can be selected as an upgrade for further extension to the range achievable.

The SANGO range has been designed to make transfers, access under tables and other furniture as well as driving into Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV’s) effortless through the ultra-low seat height from 38cm (with 12” drive wheels).  If needed for driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle from the SANGO, it can be ordered with the preparation required for use with the DAHL drive system.

The SEGO seating system is fully adjustable to each individual requirement and a range of seat cushions, backrest cushions and other accessory options allow for optimal comfort and postural support to be achieved. Junior, adult and xxl sizes ensure a correct solution can be chosen.

A full range of powered options can be selected including, powered posterior seat tilt, powered seat lift, powered backrest recline, powered anterior seat tilt, powered centre mount legrest and powered individual legrests.  Several alternative control options for the user of the chair and/ or carer can be easily integrated and mounted offering a very individual and tailored solution.

If very specific requirements cannot be met by standard options, the SANGO range can be fitted with customised and bespoke items. These can be as varied as individual chassis colours, hydrodipped shroud patterns, mounting of communication devices as well as fully designed seating systems or integration of alternative suppliers bespoke seating systems.

With over 25 years’ experience in the assessment, sales and servicing of powerchairs, the Precision Rehab team work closely with the client, their occupational therapist, family members and anyone else who may be involved in their day to day care to ensure they get the powerchair which meets all their requirements.

“Every powerchair we supply is bespoke as every client is unique and I have always held the belief that the chair should fit the person as opposed to the person fitting the chair,” says founder Matthew James.  To be able to meet and accommodate the needs of some of the most complex disabilities, Precision Rehab works with some
of the UK’s leading seating manufacturers such as Contour886 along with OT’s and other healthcare professionals during the assessment and design process of each powerchair to ensure the end product meets all the requirements of the client.

“Over the years we have worked with many people that have required a bespoke seating solution for their powerchair which we have been able to address thanks to our relationships with these manufacturers and healthcare professionals. We also believe in personalising each chair to reflect the personality of the client and this can include painted body covers to match everything from a nail varnish colour through to the correct shade of red for an ex fireman. Every powerchair we supply is truly bespoke and we are looking forward to showcasing our range on stand F21 at The OT Show on November 27th & 28th,” continued Matthew.

In addition to being the official supplier of the Paravan range of specialist powerchairs for the UK and Ireland, Precision Rehab recently launched the ground-breaking ULTRA LS300 powerchair which has been designed by NHD who were the original creators of the Balder powerchairs.  The minimum flor to seat height of just 300mm to 600mm is the lowest ever available on a powerchair, using the Dahl docking system the user can also drive their vehicle from the LS300. Complimenting the LS300 and Paravan range available from Precision Rehab are the Q700M range of powerchairs from Sunrise.

Precision Rehab is always looking to embrace the latest technology and recently added the range of MO-VIS controls which includes the all new scoot attendant control to their list of suppliers. Fitted to the back of the powerchair, it has been designed to enable the user’s carer or family member to control various features of the powerchair including speed, maneuverability and lights. To ensure the attendant control is comfortable to use, MO-VIS has incorporated ergonomically designed handles and thumb controls and an LED display showing the battery life and current speed.

PRECISION REHAB TO SHOWCASE THE UPnRIDE and Q700 UP M POWERED WHEELCHAIRS AT THE OT SHOW

On stand B42 at The OT Show, Precision Rehab will be exhibiting the UPnRIDE and Sunrise Q700 UP M powered wheelchairs both of which have recently been added to the company’s product portfolio.  Complementing the UPnRIDE and Q700 UP M will be the Paravan PR50, Paravan PR30 Evo II and the Paravan Piccolino, which features a very low to floor seat height of 38cm with an option of 36cm.

“We are delighted to once again be exhibiting at the OT Show.  The two-day event is a fantastic platform for us to showcase and demonstrate our range of powered wheelchairs to OT’s from around the UK and discuss their client’s requirements and book assessments in a relaxed and friendly environment” commented Matthew James, Co-director, Precision Rehab Ltd.

The UPnRIDE is a life changing innovation in standing chair technology and is the first powered wheelchair of its kind in the UK to offer auto balancing and unchanged centre of gravity to ensure the user has continuous stability even when travelling up or down slopes. Additional feelings of stability and safety are provided by the jointed braces and harness straps.

The Q700 UP M is a standing powered wheelchair which allows the user to lie flat or stand due to its biomechanical standing seating system which enables the user to stand at up to 85˚ so they can interact with friends and family face to face.  With a narrow base of 620mm and a turning circle of just 1250mm, the Q700 UP M is highly manoeuvrable in confined spaces and easily fits under tables and into wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV) due to its low seat height of just 445mm.

The Paravan PR30 Evo II is a highly configurable joy stick controlled powered wheelchair.  Featuring a modular design, the PR 30 Evo II can be fitted with a comprehensive range of additional options to ensure it meets the exact requirements of the client. Options include a tilt function, seat lift up to a maximum height of 80cm and footrests with additional electric features. The Paravan contoured seat system offers the client nine different configurations which consists of back pads (52, 63, 71 cm) and seat pads (45 to 54cm) all of which are individually selectable to provide the ultimate level of comfort and support.  Additional standard features of the PR30 Evo II include: seat baseplate and cushion, manually folding backrest, integrated backplate with threaded inserts, adjustable headrest and multi adjustable arm rests.  The seat is covered in an easy-care fabric.

Completing the range on show will be the Piccolino which has been designed for young people from the age of 2.  With seat widths of 270 – 430 mm, a depth of 320 – 385 mm, and back height of 400 – 480 mm combined with side supports, head support and other seat accessories all of which are multi variable and individually adjustable the Piccolino is a truly versatile powered wheelchair.  The Piccolino is the ideal paediatric powered wheelchair which can grow with the client and to help make it as fun as possible, it is available is a wide choice of funky vibrant colours.

  • FIRST NEW LIVE MAGIX 2 POWERCHAIR DELIVERED IN THE UK

Colette Scrace from Surrey recently took delivery of the UK’s first NEW LIVE Magix 2 powerchair from Precision Rehab, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bespoke powerchairs.

Colette, who works for the NHS as the Lead Nurse for Genomics in England has Rheumatoid and Osteo Arthritis which affects all her joints, resulting in her being able to stand or walk unaided for short periods of time.  For the last 7 years, Colette has been a wheelchair user and has had several powerchairs as she explains:

“My powerchairs are certainly put through their paces.  I commute around the country for work, using national rail, and flights so need an indoor/office powerchair which can also cope with rugged outdoor use when I take my large Burnese Mountain dog on long walks often on very uneven terrain which unfortunately, my previous models were not designed for.  When my last powerchair needed replacing, I started researching online and attended Naidex as I wanted a powerchair that could take me over difficult terrain with ease and give me the peace of mind that it would always get me home”.

While at Naidex Colette spoke to several powerchair manufacturers but nothing ticked all the boxes until she saw the NEW LIVE Magix 2 powerchair from Precision Rehab.  “As soon as I saw the Magix 2 and spoke to Matt I knew I had to have one. Within a couple of weeks, Matt was at my house with a demonstrator model”.  Colette has now had her Magix 2 for two months and loves it.

“The Magix 2 is amazing and without doubt the best powerchair I have ever had as it is so user friendly and very easy to manoeuvre - I have never felt so confident when I am out and about.  As many wheelchair users will tell you, it is not always easy to find two drop kerbs opposite each other but with the Magix 2 that doesn’t matter as it overcomes the kurb effortlessly, as if they are not even there.  I also love the fact that I can raise the seat height so I can talk to people face to face, and this also means that people notice me in the street and therefore don’t walk into me”.  But the highlight for Colette is the terrain capabilities which means she can now go on long country walks with her dog across terrain that would previously have been inaccessible due to the risk of getting stuck on rough, uneven ground.  “The power and performance combined with the stability I get from the six wheels is phenomenal.  Previously, when traversing pavements with an uneven camber, I felt uneasy, but now, I don’t even think about it as I feel so comfortable and secure”.

The next item to be ticked off Colette’s to do list is a trip to the seaside with her grandchildren. “I have spent years watching them play at the seaside and now I will be able to join in.  I cannot thank Matt and everyone at Precision Rehab enough.  Not only is the Magix 2 a phenomenal powerchair but Matt backs it up with superb knowledge and customer service and I would not hesitate in recommending him and his company to anyone looking for a powerchair” concluded Colette.

The NEW LIVE Magix 2 powerchair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its ultra-compact size and innovative 6-wheel drive system allow it to go to places that are considered inaccessible for most wheelchairs and powerchairs and can easily climb smoothly over kerbs and steps up to 15cm. It is available with powered seat functions including: seat lift 40-80cm, back recline 90/160 degree, tilt in space -37/+10 degree, power elevating & compensating leg rest (single or individual) with footplate to floor system. The Magic 2 comes with a comfortable standard seating system but can easily be fitted with aftermarket seating including V-Track for all postural requirements. The NEW LIVE Magix 2 truly has to be seen and tried to fully appreciate how agile and capable it is for both indoor and outdoor use with optimum comfort and ease.

Their Sango range offers powerchairs for all client groups - adults, paediatric and bariatric and whether they prefer front, mid or rear wheel drive” continued Matthew.
